In 2004 my first book was published. It was entitled, “Musings From A Mother’s Heart: Letters and Poems To My Special-needs Child”. It was dedicated to my daughter who was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Every poem and letter was formed and written from the deepest part of me. I wanted everyone to know just how much I loved her and how blessed I was to have her in my life.
After she was born I dedicated my life to her. I wrote something every day. So after 10 years I decided to put all the poems and letters into a manuscript, thinking that I would find a publisher. I eventually found one and the rest was history. It was a wonderful experience. It showed me perseverance pays off. I enjoyed doing that project the most because my daughter is so precious and I had always dreamed in becoming a published author.
I enjoy writing. I find the process challenging but very fulfilling. It opens my heart to spill its blessings across the blank page. I am thankful for each new experience.
